+Antique Edwardian bar brooch featuring a large fly with a white pearl holding a flower with a flat cut garnet attached. This exquisite brooch is an exceptional design, during this period in history horticulture was very popular where plants, flowers, fruit and insect were depicted in jewellery as their fascination grew. The brooch secures with an open 'c' clasp.
Garnets were used extensively in all different designs of Victorian jewellery, bracelets, rings, brooches and elaborate necklaces, they represent the birthstone of January.
